I was born and raised in northern Lancaster County, near Paul B Hardware. I always enjoyed singing, and became interested in studying music composition throughout high school. In 9th and 10th grade, the music curriculum focused on introduction to hymn composition, and during 10th grade I composed my first song. Since then, I have composed as a hobby, and gotten counterpoint lessons from Wendell Glick, as well as a 5-day composition course from Ivan Martin. Still an amateur, I compose mainly by ear, and am trying to catch up to the theory behind it all. I'm planning to teach grades 8-10 in Spokane, WA; and look forward to inspiring an interest in composition in my students.
